Hot Take Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Hot Take makes lip-sync music videos on your iPhone. It does not collect any data about you.
What Hot Take collects
Nothing. Hot Take has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not send anything to us or to anyone else. There is no server.
What stays on your phone
Songs you import are copied into the app so you can work with them.
Takes you film are saved inside the app, together with the edits you make.
Your settings (such as Snap, Face focus and sync offsets) are saved inside the app.
All of this stays on your device. Deleting a project deletes its song, takes and edits. Deleting the app deletes everything.
Permissions
Camera: used only to film your takes while the song plays.
Photos (add only): used only to save the finished videos you export. Hot Take never reads your existing photos.
Microphone: Hot Take does not record sound. Your videos use the song you imported as their audio.
Hot Take analyses faces in your takes on your phone to choose which take to use for each part of the video. Nothing about your face is stored outside the app or sent anywhere.
Sharing
When you export a video, it is saved to your Photos and you can choose to share it using the iPhone's share sheet. Hot Take does not share anything on its own.
Children
Hot Take does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
